Merfolk

Merfolk have been apart of legends and myths within the human race for thousands of years. They are half fish and half human, living upon the ocean and other large bodies of water. There was a thought that there were only females so 'mermaids' were giving to there names but there are males. The Merfolk have been working hard to stay hidden from the growing number of hunters upon the surface, of course, many merfolk don't abide by the risks.

Powers/Abilities: They can breath underwater but that is really the only gift, minus for the tail, that they have.

Death By: Out of water for a long period of time (15 minutes), trama of being caught in a fish net, long periods of chlorine exposer (2 weeks).

Communication: Can talk english, french, italian, any language humans can. They can talk underwater.

Life Span: Can get up to around 65 but with the hunters, only around 40.

Living Style: Merfolk are social creatures and usually travel with a group or another individual. There are times when they live and travel alone. With relationships, merfolk don't really have boundaries. They see love as love and nothing is greater than that. Not like the human society upon land.

Hunters

Hunters are humans that are apart of a small organization that know that mermaids are real and dedicate themselves to capturing one to show the world that they exist. Within society, these few people are considered freaks or insane as no one really believes the nonsense of mermaids within the oceans. It does sound crazy but most hunters are brilliant

Origin: Hunters came from a small fishing club, Marlin Fishing Club. The members of the club use to just be Senior members but the younger class started to move in when the mermaid talk came about. When one group went out fishing and snagged a mermaid, with pictures and video to document the experience the club decided to prove that mermaids exist to the world. When the pictures and video were sent in as proof, the world had just laughed.
